Life would be so boring if not for learning. . .

I live up a little hollow in the Smokies.  It seems very isolated, because we are surrounded by woods and hills, but we are five minutes from the University where my husband teaches Special Education.

On the other side of the ridge from us is Full Spectrum Farm.  That's where I work as farm activities coordinator. One of two employees at a non-profit,  I manage the gardens, teach pottery, coordinate volunteers and conduct programs for people with Autism.  I wear too many hats, but love them all.   We need the funds to hire someone else but times are thin, so we roll up our sleeves, dig in and work hard to fullfill a dream of a residential farm for people with autism.

I am a naturalist at heart. I like to walk, take photgraphs and draw.  Amature at all.   Retirement age looms, but I cannot envision stopping my work.  I think that maybe the farm will have to cart me off when I've outlived my usefulness.   In that event I'll pick up some watercolors and paint my way to the next horizon.
