Bargain Season - Garage Sale Tips"The signs of the season are here: "Yard Sale, Garage Sale, Moving Sale, Estate Sale." It's time to clear out the old and the unwanted and, for some of us, a time to find new treasures. Television programs that show people picking up pots or paintings for a few dollars and selling them for hundreds or thousands can bring out the spirit of adventure in a lot of us. Especially for these folks, the weekend treasure hunt season is on!"

Large ArrowsSigns are very important when throwing a garage sale. Make sure you signs have large and clear arrows so that they can be seen easily by drivers. And also make sure the date of the sale is visible.

Crocheting with Thrifty Store Finds?I am an empty nester who loves to shop at thrift stores. I have came across big bags of t-shirts, really cheap. I also have come across many afghans. With the crochet craze I thought it would be nice if i could combine the two. Some of the t-shirts have stains and some do not. Do you have any suggestions on how I can decorate them using thrift store finds? I bought some potholders and I am going to take a nice short sleeve sweater that I bought from Wal-mart about 5-6 years ago and put two of them on like they are pockets. I think it would good with the open weave look. But do you have any sugestions for combining the crochet material with the t-shirts? i would hate to waste them. Carol

My Dirty, Old, Pitted Tub! Keeping it Clean?I have a very old, pitted porcelain bath tub that I can't afford to refinish or replace. It collects a lot dirt in the pits and I cannot get it clean. it no longer shines at all! It isn't stained, just has hard to remove dirt. I have done the bleach thing, Comet, various cleaners, even some from the janitorial supply house, throughout the years but nothing seems to work (scrubbing bubbles is the best) I have tendonitis in my arm and cannot scrub for long periods of time. If I do get it clean is there an economical finish or wax that I can use on it so it stays cleaner longer? Thank You!!! Sas-E-Sheri

Need Fast Working and Child-Safe Dog Deterrent?I need some help fast...my dog has decided that he needs to potty in the area of the yard that all my play equipment for my daycare children is in. He always went to the far side of the yard until winter, didn't want to get as wet, so, he hurried and found a closer spot. Does anyone know of anything that will get him back to his old spot? I don't think Cayenne Pepper is a very good idea in a children's play area..it needs to be child friendly but not doggie encouraging deterrent Thanks!! Sas-E-Sheri
