Making a Towel Wedding CakeYou will need to buy two bath towels, two hand towels and two washcloths. Any color will do, but white works best for the affect of having a wedding cake.

 

Quick Hot RollsPreheat oven to 400F. Mix well and pour into greased muffin pan. Bake till golden. Makes: 6 rolls.

 

Cleaning Spatulas and Slotted SpoonsTo easily clean stuck food out of the grooves of spatulas and slotted spoons, cut a small U shape piece out of the end of a drinking straw. It is the perfect width to fit the slots, the straight edges will scrape the food and it is flexible. By Jennifer Dark

 

Organizing Kids Socks and UnderwearI organize kids socks and underwear so they don't get bunched up together. I use the bottom half of plastic coke bottles or liter bottles of other soda to do this. You can see through them, and they keep the drawer neat.

 

Keep the Clutter Down, Don't Let it OverflowOne way to keep clutter down is to provide dedicated space/containers, baskets, shelf space, plastic tubs, hangers, and hooks, for items which tend to accumulate.

 

Keep an Errand Tote By the DoorKeep a tote bag somewhere near your door. Put anything in it that needs to be taken out of the house. I keep a file folder in mine for lists and other paper items I don't want to get messed up.

 

Inexpensive Decorating?We are moving to a new home soon. It is somewhat formal and traditional home (big change). Do you have any inexpensive decorating tips? There is a huge garden tub with plenty of space around for some pretty things as well as a lot of cabinet space in kitchen, etc. I lean toward antique. Beth

 

Preventing a Rug From Slipping on the Floor?Hi. I have a matching set of throw rugs in my hallway, but one of them is really mean. Although it still has the rubber backing on it, every time I step on it, it slides and THROWS me. Does anyone have ideas for something I could attach to it to keep it from slipping? Any Tips for Radio Contests?Does anyone have any good tips for getting through on radio contests. I set my phone up for speed dial, I use my Cell phone at the same time, I hang up quickly and redial. All to no avail. The lines are constantly jammed... HELP - Terri

 

Hepa Filter for Vacuum?We were given a sweeper as a gift, it requires those hepa filters to be replaced. I have been putting it off because it is $20 or more for one filter. It is very dusty. Does anyone have a cheaper solution?

 

Uses for Contac Paper?Recently (this morning) I did my first project using contac paper. I covered an oatmeal container. I found a roll of "white marble" looking paper and couldn't resist it. And now I'm hooked on the stuff.

 

Mysterious Pests Brought Home with New Kitten?We got a new kitten for our addopted kitten to play with, but this month old tyke brought a little annoyance with him. At first they only bugged the kittens, but after flea treatment (which works on more than just fleas) they started biting my family (me especially).

 

Help with SuperBowl Party Decorations and Centerpieces?I am planning the decorations for our organization's event in January. The event is for approximately 650 people and it has a SuperBowl theme (since we are in Jacksonville). I am having a hard time coming up with the centerpieces for the tables. We are going to involve local high schools to help with the decorations so any suggestions that you can make on decorations and centerpieces that they can put together would be appreciated. Cleaning a Food Processor Bowl?I just ground whole cloves in my mini food processor and the bowl is cloudy and I can't get the smell of cloves out of it. Does anyone know how I can restore it to its original condition? Thanks! Andrea
