Simple CheesecakeBeat together cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, eggs (1 at a time), and vanilla. Spread package of crescent rolls in bottom and slightly up sides of 9x13 pan. Pour cream cheese mixture over crescent rolls. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

 

Bean, Pea, and Orange SaladMake marinade and pour over vegetables. Let stand overnight.

 

Apple Cherry SaladThis recipe comes from my daughter and I've not yet had a chance to try it, but it sure sounds like a Blue Ribbon winner.

 

Sweet 'n' Tangy Chicken Wings (Crockpot)Sprinkle chicken wingettes with a dash of salt and pepper. Broil 4-6 inches from the heat for 5 to 10 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer to a greased 5-qt. slow cooker (crockpot).

 

Baked Ham Roll-UpsCook frozen spinach as directed on package and drain. Combine with stuffing mix and sour cream; mix well. Spread each ham slice with about 1/2 cup spinach mixture.

 

Hearty Pasta SaladMix well and enjoy!

 

6 Week MuffinsMix first 5 ingredients. Add last 3 ingredients. Use a large bowl. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes in lightly greased muffin tins.

 

Country Green BeansIn a saucepan, combine all ingredients; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until beans are tender.

 

Black Beans and RiceThis is such an economical and easy dish to make, not to mention delicious. On days when I don't have bread to make a sandwich for lunch or don't have anything else to pack for my lunch, I'll cook the rice while preparing breakfast in the morning.

 

Roasted Rosemary Chicken and PotatoesThis is one of my easiest and DELICIOUS recipes. All in one pan, just add a salad or veggie!

 

Thrifty Organizational TipsTo get organized, use empty big cereal boxes in the pantry to group similar things together.

 

Recycling CrayonsI recycle my grandchildren's broken crayons into new crayons. Take all pieces of the same color crayon and melt in a can set in water on the stove. Be careful, this is very hot. Pour into a mold and cool.

 

Homemade Deep Litter BoxI always had a hard time finding a litter box that was deep enough for my cats. They kicked loads of litter out the side with traditional boxes. Then I tried a covered box and it just made them stinky when they came out. So I made my own litter box.

Using Banana LeavesBanana leaves are cut from the banana plant and are used as a wrapping to cook food in, instead of tin foil. Banana leaves give a slight aroma and flavor to the foods cooked in them.

 

Use Wax Paper In Your MicrowaveWhen you use the microwave a lot, use wax paper to put on top of the food in your microwave, it helps with the splatter and mess. You can also use it when you want to roll out your dough and make sandwiches too.

 

Swiffer Cleaning Cloths Are Good For BathtubsIn trying to use less chemicals around my son, I have discovered that the swiffer-dry cleaning cloth (no name brands as well) is great for cleaning acrylic bath tubs. I use a small amount of dish soap, a small amount of elbow grease and voila, I have a perfectly clean tub minus the fumes of harsh chemicals.
