Use a small bag to hold small items such as lids and baby bottle lids and nipples. The items will be clean, and they won't be thrown around the dishwasher. I especially like this hint because I can use an item I already have, and don't have to purchase those plastic holders that they sell for this purpose.

Laminated pieces of paper that need to have permanent marker removed from them.
Erasing Permanent Marker from Laminated PaperWhen I taught Pre-K, I laminated everything! Doing this helped make all of my activities, charts, and schedules last quite a bit longer. I was able to write on these laminated surfaces with permanent marker, erase, and reuse them. I did this with name tags, cubby tags, center signs, and so much more!

Removing Mold from Dish DrainerMold happens to all of us. And it is a pain to clean out of holes, grooves, and crevices. The worst area it accumulates in my house is in my dish drainer. No matter how much cleaner I sprayed, I could not seem to remove all of the mold! I would simply replace it with a new one.

Save on Kitchen PaperI use a cheap toilet roll instead. It's very absorbent for mopping up grease, and will not scratch like kitchen paper. You can't use it for big cleaning jobs, but using kitchen paper for these is very expensive anyway and the job is better done with a cloth.

Save Plastic Packing MaterialI have been getting a lot of these plastic cubes filled with air in my packages. I was delighted to find they tear into exact squares and, when deflated, fit nicely in a tissue box. They are great to use for any cleaning job where you might want to use a glove.

Homemade Stainless Steel Appliance CleanerTake an empty spray bottle and fill it with half baby oil and half food-grade mineral oil. Spray on a cloth and apply in circular motion. Take another cloth and buff. This leaves a beautiful shine and lasts a while. It is much cheaper than any store-bought brand.

Making Rubber Gloves Last LongerInstead of keeping my rubber gloves in the kitchen drawer, I hang them on the stove, using magnets. That is where they stay until I use them again, which is two or three times a day. Since I started doing this, I have noticed that my rubber gloves last a lot longer.

Product Review: Rags in a BagFlylady.net makes them. They are $11.95 for 3, and they come in their own laundry bag to wash. They recently had a sale, and I got another bag free, so the cost was halved. They are wonderful for mirrors, windows, and to wipe down counters. They are large and lint-free.

Cleaning the Clothes Dryer FilterWhen cleaning the lint filter on my dryer (which I do before every load), I use a small, damp paper towel. I have found that this works better than me licking the tips of my fingers to do it. The damp paper towel removes the lint better and cuts down on the dust that cleaning the filter creates.
