13th Birthday Party Ideas

When my children turned 13 we wanted to celebrate their new status in life. We decided to give 13 gifts to celebrate their 13 years. Because we didn't have much money we would purchase one larger gift and then 12 smaller items. Gifts were wrapped in a variety of ways; pretty paper, comics, etc.

One example of the kind of thing we did is this idea for one of my sons. He loved squirting cheese spread onto crackers so he received a box of his favorite crackers (gift # 1). Gift # 2 was a can of the cheese spread. Our family had lots of laughs and discussions about the choices. (01/21/2010)
