Any ideas for a 25th wedding anniversary gift? I'm looking for something that is more interesting than silver candlesticks!

I saw a gift that was a basket sprayed silver, wrapped in cellophane, with a silver bow, with silver shredded paper. The gift was twenty-five dollars in quarters. It looked great and didn't have to be dusted or polished after the party. (06/12/2006)
You could do what I did for my brother's 50th anniversary, only do it in silver. I took 50 silver dollars, you would use 25. I cut gold foil, cut in squares big enough to wrap each dollar separately, and tape shut. I bought a tall gold gift bag and gold "Easter" grass at a dollar store. I would sprinkle a few coins in the bag, add a little grass, and repeated till done. You could do this with silver foil, a silver bag, and silver grass. (06/13/2006)
Two small pewter mugs with silver monograms on each of them for alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks. Unique and only from you! (06/13/2006)
For our daughter's 25th we took pictures that we had taken through the years - one for each of the 25 years. We scanned them into the computer then took them to the store and had them printed. Her daughter took a picture of them on THE day and we put that as the last picture. They were really surprised. (06/13/2006)
My cousin gave us a big silver colored planter and put 3-4 big bath towels rolled up in it to look kinda like flowers. We loved it!! The old towels look kinda scruffy after all those years - a silver waste basket would do just as well. And you could fill it with anything practical. We got a bunch of stuff with 25th anniversary on them - they were on display for awhile and are long since packed away and forgotten! (06/13/2006)
Just celebrated my 25th. Loved gift certificate to a restaurant to use on another day. No clutter or anything to dust either! (06/14/2006)
If you know the couple well, find out what they like and get 25 of them.
My cousin made a poster for her parents using only quarters that added up to $25.00 (06/14/2006)
