ThriftyFun is happy to announce this year's Homemade Halloween Costume contest! If you have made a costume in the past or are working on one for this year, feel free to enter it our weekly Halloween Costume contest.
Since starting this website over 10 years ago, we have received a lot of generous submissions from users. Shortly after publishing our first newsletter, we decided to add a contest so that at least one of our users would be rewarded for their generosity.
Warning: Anti-Virus Pop Up Advertisements
Recently we've received several reports of visitors seeing anti-virus messages pop-up while browsing ThriftyFun. We monitor the site for viruses and other problems and we don't believe that these pop-up advertisements are coming from one of our advertisers or from the site itself.
ThriftyFun Launches Updated Site
I am pleased to announce the latest update to the ThriftyFun website. We have made a number of changes and improvements, based on feedback from the ThriftyFun community. Here is a list of the major updated features.

Congratulations Paul and Harlean (50th Wedding Anniversary)
We are honored to announce the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Paul and Harlean Greathouse. They knew each other for only three weeks prior to their wedding day of June 2, 1960 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Many who knew them then said, "It won't last".
We are all so busy with our lives and barely take the time to speak to the neighbor. So I just wanted to thank all the people who have made this the wonderful website it is, and to take the time to thank all the people that share their ideas with the rest of us.
ThriftyFun: Aloha From Hawai'i
Updated: We are all back from Oahu, Hawaii and wanted to share our trip with the rest of the ThriftyFun community. Since 6 days is really only 4 with two days mostly taken up with traveling, I've just posted 4 sets of photos, one for each full day we were there.
