Keep story books in the bathroom and let her pick which one to read, she will find it fun and encouraging to go do her business with mommy. (04/16/2009)

The only advice I have is to let her set the pace. If you try to force her, it will not work. 16 months is pretty young, in my opinion. (04/16/2009)

There are wonderful videos out there for children to watch about going on the potty. They actually show children going to the potty. Here is an informational video on potty training:

Try setting an egg timer at 30 minute intervals and make a game out of going to try to potty every time the child hears the bell ding. It teaches them to be aware of the sensation of having to use the bathroom and makes it a fun way to "practice". (05/06/2009)
