Here in Louisiana, armadillos are far from rare, but seeing these babies was a real treat. Pictured are three armadillos. They are always born as quadruplets, but one was a little camera shy!

A spell of warm weather after weeks of cold brought out the wildlife in our area. Following an afternoon of birding at a wildlife refuge, we were almost home when we found this fellow. Armadillos have just recently come into our area in Tennessee, and we still get very excited to see them. I was glad to get such a close picture as he reared up on his hind legs to get a better look at us.
