Autumn Arrangement in Twig Wrapped Jar

arrangement in vase If you are fortunate to have a tree lined or wooded area in your vicinity, free from stress, war, and strife, then on the next bright autumn day that you come across, take a walk of gratitude and in the process collect some twigs, preferably straight ones. When you get home you can then make this lovely autumn vase and fill it with beautiful things

Supplies:

1 glass jar
1 bunch of straight twigs
strong glue
plain string
pretty string or cord
beautiful flowers, twiglets with berries, dried grass or other beautiful stuff to fill your vase
1 good hefty pair of pruners

spool of plain white string

leaves, berries, dried plants, etc.

Steps:

Measure a twig against the jar and cut it so that it is slightly longer.

Use this first twig as a measure to cut the others.

Take one of the twigs and a very long piece of string and tie a double knot near one end.

Hold another twig next to the first one with the string behind it.

Wrap the string over the top of the second twig and pull it down and behind.

Keeping the string between the 2 twigs, pull it up and over to the back again.

Do the same with the next twig and carry on joining them in this manner.

This is how your twigs will look from the back. Carry on joining them until you have enough to fit around your jar.

Apply generous amounts of strong glue to the jar and wrap the sticks around it.

Use some string to temporarily hold the sticks in place until the glue has dried.

Once the glue is dry you can remove the string and tie something a bit prettier around it such as ribbon or fancy cord.
