Banana Boats

These are great campfire desserts if you are out camping, kids love them! If you want to make them at home, just bake them in the oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana in peel
  • mini chocolate chips*
  • mini marshmallows*
  • flaked coconut
  • aluminum foil

*Smaller topping pieces will melt faster and make the finished dessert better.

Toppings are to taste, feel free to add or subtract any that you don't like (except for the banana). We had each person select which toppings they would like.

Directions

Slice through the banana peel and fruit about 3/4 lengthwise from end to end, but not through the ends, so that the peel will stay on but you can add the toppings inside. If you press both ends, it will gape open. Place chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and coconut inside the sliced banana and then wrap it in aluminum foil.

Place in hot coals until chocolate and marshmallow is melted and the banana is softened. Give each person a spoon and have them eat the banana boat right in the wrapping.

Enjoy!
