Hair Washing Tips
If you wash your hair more than once a week, save on shampoo and only shampoo once. Just scrub a little longer with the one shampoo.

Using Smaller Amounts of Toiletries
Dime sized shampoo works great for me, even when my hair is long, and it saves money too. ust put a dime sized plop of shampoo in your hand, rub it, and spread it over your damp hair, and nope, it does not usually lather in your hair.

Use Less Shampoo By Avoiding "Repeat"
This is a fact I learned at least 30 years ago, maybe more. Re: the amount of shampoo you use when washing your hair. Everyone seems to follow the instructions of washing, rinsing, then repeat. Do you know why it says that?

Use Baking Soda to Remove Hairspray from Your Hair
How many times do you need to wash your hair with baking soda before all the hairspray residue is gone? I've washed it 3 times now and there is still some there, (my hair has been suffering with hairspray residue for over 12 months).

Making Shampoo Last By Washing Twice
Years ago my mom told me a way to make shampoo last. This works just as well whether your hair is long or short, thick or thin. Instead of just pouring a glob of shampoo into your hand, pay attention to how much you pour.

Removing Chlorine from Hair
If you swim daily in a pool for physical therapy or recreation you'll want to remove that nasty chlorine from your hair without drying it out with excess washings. I simply buy conditioner from the dollar store.

Place A Rubber Band Around the Shampoo
I don't know if this happens to you, but I get so frustrated when I am in the shower (without my glasses, of course) and I cannot tell which bottle is the shampoo and which is the conditioner! They make many of the bottles look identical and even if I held it at arms length I couldn't read it :-)

Refill Travel Shampoo Bottles With Your Favorite Brand
We all have those pesky small shampoo bottles from hotels. I decided to use one of them as an experiment after it was empty. I filled it with my favorite shampoo. As the wearer of short hair - this worked miracles! I could save water by washing at the sink. I could save time for unexpected company or rushed outings. I am recycling. Saving lots of time, money and on my water bill.

Vinegar to Remove Shampoo Build Up
I have a question about using vinegar for a hair rinse. Do you use it full strength, or dilute it? Do you rinse it out after, or leave it in? If you leave it in wouldn't it leave a smell? I have very fine, thin hair.

Washing Your Hair With Hard Water
Washing Your Hair With Hard Water. Does anyone know of a good way to neutralize the effects hard water has on hair?
