This is my son's absolute favorite dinner. Yoshida's (found at Costco) is the best Asian style marinade sauce we've tried and is based right here in Portland, Oregon. This is a very simple and nutritious meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Mr. Yoshida's Original Sweet and Savory Sauce (1 1/2 cups for marinade, and 1/2 cup reserved for serving.)
  • 1-2 lb. flank steak (you can use other cuts, but flank steak is both lean and tender)
  • broccoli
  • brown rice

Directions:

  1. Marinade steak in Yoshida's overnight (we usually marinade and cook the entire steak at once, but it's more flavorful if you cut the beef into strips before marinading)
  2. Start brown rice in the rice cooker.
  3. Place steak on hot broiler pan and set to broil in the oven (also great on the BBQ).
  4. Chop and steam broccoli.
  5. When steak is done (about 15 minutes, or until 140-145 degrees F), let rest, cut into strips, and serve.
  6. Drizzle Yoshida's sauce over beef broccoli before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 t. garlic salt
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened) (3 oz.)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 package frozen broccoli (10 oz.), chopped, cooked and drained
  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls (16 rolls)
  • 4 oz. Monterey Jack cheese (sliced)

Directions

Cook beef and chopped onions, drain off grease. Add flour, salt and garlic salt. Stir. Now add milk and cream cheese. Cook mixture until thickens. Add a moderate amount of mixture from skillet to beaten egg. Mix, then return to skillet. Stir and cook for about 2 minutes. Chop drained broccoli and add to mixture. Unroll 1 package crescent rolls. Pinch cuts at perforations to seal and roll out to fit 9 inch pie plate. Trim plate, add mixture. Roll out second package crescent rolls and top pie plate. Pinch edges and cook at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.

Love this. It is supposed to be kind of a variation on an oriental dish.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 lb. boneless beef sirloin steak
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 medium onion, cut in wedges
  • 1 can cream of broccoli soup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • hot cooked noodles

Directions:

Slice beef across the grain into very thin strips. In skillet, over medium high heat, in hot oil, cook beef and garlic until beef is browned. Add onion, and cook 5 minutes, stirring often. Stir in soup, water and soy sauce. Heat to boiling. Add broccoli, and reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 5 minutes or until veggies are tender. Serve over noodles.
