Use All Sizes of Your Silverware
Running out of silverware? I even went shopping for another set. Discovered that I like the ones I have at home better, and realized that the new set wouldn't nest with the old sets.

Dial 99 During Recorded Telemarketing Call
Do you still get calls from telemarketers even though you're on the Do Not Call List? If you get a call from a recording, dial 99 while the recording is playing and then hang up. On quite a few automated systems, 99 is the code to delete your number from their database.

Cell Phone for Emergency Flashlight
As I was stumbling through the dark looking for the first light switch on my way through the house, I realized that my cell phone was still lit. It was amazing how helpful that little thing was in providing just enough light.

Rubbermaid Boxes for Storage and Furniture
I use 13 gallon Rubbermaid boxes for all my storage. I stack my Rubbermaids two high, and cover with a pretty sheet and the colorful Mexican serapes. They look like a long covered table, and I place books or magazines on top.

Lick Your Fingers to Open Plastic Bags
My disabled husband watched me trying to open a trash bag. He told me to lick my thumb and finger and try to open the bag. LOL it worked. Be sure your fingers are clean before licking.

Use Broom Handle for Extension
A small nail tacked into the top of a broom handle can serve numerous purposes over time. I have used a 1" brad in my broom handle to hang light items from nails up high on the porch, etc. No need to drag out a ladder or chair to reach!

Coffee Cup Holders For Cans
I love soda in aluminum cans, but hate the cold and condensation on my hands. I came up with a great solution that I thought might help others who have similar problems with their hands.

Donate VHS Movies to the Library
Rid yourself of extra, unwanted, and unused VHS movies by donating them to your local library! There are still a lot of people who have not made the change to DVD, who go to the library to check them out, saving rental fee money.

My Frugal Life: Living Simply In The Ozarks
13 years ago, my husband Jerry and I lived in Los Angeles. We owned a business and we were making a lot of money. We decided to give it all up and move to the Ozarks, where life is more simple. Now that we are living in the Ozarks, we are living on his SDI and my Social Security. It is so beautiful back here. The leaves change in the fall, and usually it snows in the winter.
