Make a quick dessert by combining equal parts of cherry pie filling and chocolate pudding. Put into parfait glasses and you'll have a Black Forest-type dessert.

This is a delicious and rich mousse-like pie.

Total Time: Total of 6 hours

Yield: 8 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 1 oz. squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 1 9 inch pie shell, baked
  • 1 21 oz. can cherry pie filling, chilled
  • 1/8 cup toasted sliced almonds (optional)

Steps:

  1. Break up the chocolate squares into pieces, combine with the condensed milk in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted.
  2. Remove from heat. Stir in almond extract and refrigerate until mixture is cool.

  4. In another bowl, whip heavy cream. Fold chocolate mixture and whipped cream together. Pour into pie crust and chill until set.
  5. Serve with cherry pie filling. Garnish with almonds, if desired. Cover and refrigerate leftover pie, if there is any!

Ingredients

  • 1 box (1 lb. 2.25 oz.) Betty Crocker double chocolate muffin mix
  • 1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg
  • Frozen (thawed) whipped topping, if desired
  • 12 maraschino cherries, if desired

Directions

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.. Place paper baking cup in each of 12 regular-size muffin pan. In medium bowl, stir muffin mix, pie filling and egg until blended (batter will be very moist). Divide batter among muffin cups. Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until tops spring back when touched. Cool 5 minutes. Carefully remove muffins from pan to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Serve each cake topped with a dollop of whipped topping and a cherry.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8oz.)
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 carton frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 2 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3oz. each)
  • chocolate curls, opt.

Directions:

In a bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in coconut and walnuts. Press into an ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. Fold in 1 cup whipped topping. Spread over crust.

Top with pie filling; cover and chill. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. In a large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes, or until soft-set. Whisk a small amount of pudding into melted chocolate. Return all to the pudding, whisking constantly. Pour over cherry filling. Chill for 2 hours or until set. Just before serving, spread remaining whipped topping over dessert. Garnish with chocolate curls, if desired.
