Drive Less For Low Mileage Insurance Discount
I recently retired and not liking driving that much, I decided to apply for the lowest rate of insurance I could find. By qualifying for the low mileage discount (which is the largest one of all), I saved over 50% of my truck's insurance.

Save Money on Insurance
If you own a home or buying a home try to get your vehicle and home insurance with the same company and get a discounted rate for doing so. We not only checked with local agents, but also did online rate checks.

Be Sure To Review Insurance Deductibles
If it's been a while since you've reviewed your home and auto insurance, take look at your deductibles. Because if you've been with the company for a long time you might have deductibles that are lower than you actually need.

Auto Insurance Discount for Homeschooled Teens
We learned that adding our 16 year old to our auto policies was going to really hike up the price. I'd heard about good student discounts but since we homeschool, we weren't sure they would work with us...

Saving Money on Teenage Driver's Insurance
We have found that having a teenage driver was a big drain on our insurance premiums. One thing that has helped a lot, though, is that we have her restricted to driving the oldest car. That has saved us some money on insurance and I highly recommend it!

Review Insurance Coverage
Remember to review your insurance coverages regularly. I put this off for a long time, because it confused me. But I made an appointment with our agent, and she was VERY helpful in finding ways to reduce our insurance bills.

Auto Insurance Discounts
Make sure you are getting all of the discounts you are entitled to, on your auto insurance. Most companies give discounts for anti-lock brakes, daytime running lights, airbags, etc. Some discounts you may not be aware of -- annual mileage of less than a certain number (often 8,000 per year), even teenage drivers who maintain honor roll grades!

Saving on Auto Insurance for Teens
Vehicle insurance is so expensive, especially if you have teenagers! One of the things many people seem to forget is that most companies will give you a discount on your policy if your child gets good grades. This even goes for children in college that are still on your insurance. It's worth checking into!

Check Your Credit Before Buying Insurance
Check your credit before purchasing homeowners or auto insurance. Your credit it seems is an indicator of the risk you will be. It is less expensive to correct something inaccurate on your report before instead of after. If you have some bills that have not been paid on for some time start payning as much as you can. Insurance is expensive why pay the extra surcharge if you do not have to. By Trigger
