When your bananas start to get too ripe, remove the peeling and put into a freezer or sandwich bag and freeze it. This makes a healthy treat that you can eat alone or with ice cream that could be topped with chocolate syrup, oops, there goes the healthy diet!
It's better to eat the bananas while they're frozen; for, they'll get mushy and discolored when thawed. Also, any bananas saved by freezing comes in very handy when making banana bread or any other cooking type recipes calling for bananas.

When I buy overripe bananas, I freeze them and then use them in blender fruit drinks. they are so delicious. (02/02/2010)
