Place Window Candles on Tuna Can "Risers"
I have found that the Christmas candles for the windows are too low with the new energysaving windowsills. I put a can of tuna fish under the candle to boost it up. You could use a taller can if you need it higher.

Holiday Basket Light
This Basket Light is very easy to make. Buy a basket,small electric candle, an ornament of your choice and some greenery at your local craft store. Glue your candle into the basket and the remaining items. Makes a great Christmas gift.

Craft: Milk Jug Lights
Rinse out your jugs and let dry. If it is windy in your area, you may want to put sand or rocks in the bottom of the jugs to keep them in place. Place one light into the mouth of each jug.

I love it when Christmas is here! I hardly ever turn on my regular lighting. At Christmas. I put lights up all around. The pictures unfortunately don't give the true beauty the lights all aglow give. Try it you'll love the look!

What to Do with Lights Strings That Don't Work
If you have a string of lights that doesn't work, strip it before you toss it. I pull out all the bulbs and keep them in a small box with all the strings of lights. When decorating I replace burnt out bulbs with the ones from the broken string...

Use a Timer for Christmas Tree Lighting
For many years we would plug in our tree every evening & then before we went to bed we would unplug it. It finally dawned on us that we could eliminate doing that by using a timer connected to that outlet. Now, like clockwork, our tree goes on at 5 pm and off at 11 pm. Try it, you'll like it.
