Planning an Authentic German Style Christmas
Our family has started a new tradition as of last year, choosing a specific country and doing their traditions and meals, etc. for Christmas. What a wonderful time we had with Italy.
We always had one of these at Christmas, traditionally called a 'clootie' dumpling because they were boiled in white cloths. There are many recipes for clootie dumpling but I find this one easiest and not too rich.
Use a rolling pin to crush graham crackers into fine crumbs. Put the crumbs in a large mixing bowl, with cut up candied cherries, raisins, cut up dates, and chopped walnuts. Mix well.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place crust on baking sheet. Sprinkle sausage on bottom of crust. Top with potatoes, onions, bell peppers and cheese.

Candy Cane Shakes and Christmas Lights
When our family goes sight seeing to see Christmas lights we always go to McHughs first and get candy cane shakes to drink as we drive around. The shakes could easily be made at home ahead of time if you don't have a McHughs near by or buy some candy cane ice cream and serve in glasses to go. This has become a family tradition at our house :) By Melanie
This is one of my family's favorites. We make this every year during the holidays. The cider is good with or without the caramel and whipped cream.
Buckeye Candy (Grandma's peanut butter balls)
Every year my grandma made what we called "Peanut Butter Balls". She never went by a recipe and they always turned out perfect!
Cute Peanut Butter Snowman Treats
This is so simple but so good. My family expects it every year. Spread peanut butter between two buttery round crackers (I use Ritz) and dip into melted white chocolate or white candy coating. Place on wax paper until set. I put several peanut butter and crackers together first, then start dipping.
