| Set Up a Kids Christmas Tree
As empty nesters with a house emptied out, I decided to do something new this Christmas. Having just given our sun room a make-over, into a den just for us, I thought of putting up 2 trees, as each had access to a big window and these are the two rooms we spend our time in (living and den).

My partner and I don't really celebrate Christmas, so we're usually quite bored on the 25th of December as we have no friends or family around. A few years ago we started making this on Christmas Day and has become a tradition for us. We would serve it to friends for New Years or colleagues when going back to work. So good!

When I was a child, my mother would make special Christmas present name tags for me and my sisters. Using Christmas cards, we had received she would cut them out and decorate them using yarn, ribbon, lace, etc.

| 12 Days Of Christmas Books
I do the 12 books of Christmas with my daughter. Throughout the 1st year of doing this, I collected used or new Christmas children's books from yard sales, thrift stores, etc. I wrapped them all and put them under the tree and beginning on Dec. 13th., my daughter got to pick one book to open up for me to read before bed each night until Christmas Eve.

| My Frugal Holiday: Clue Gift
As a young dad, I inherently understood that holidays are all about making memories. Although my two daughters learned early that the celebration of Christ's birth is the true reason for Christmas, we did embrace Santa and the exchanging of gifts like most families.

| Christmas Soup Swap
Calorie Free Christmas! We try to keep things healthy at our house, so instead of a Christmas cookie exchange, we do a soup swap in our neighborhood. Each person brings six containers of their favorite soup. You can use plastic storage or even a Styrofoam cup with a lid. Everyone takes home six different soups. Fun and freezable.

| Memory Gifts For Christmas
Every year the adults in my family draw names and buy a gift for just one person instead of a gift for everyone. Sometimes we have themes for the gifts. One year we did memory gifts (I saw this one on TV) The give was supposed to represent a particularly memory of that person in the past. It was very moving to see what memories people cherish. We will have a different theme this year, don't know what yet.

| Potato Candy
My Aunt who lived in West Virginia and has passed use to make Potato Candy. That's what she called it anyway. I thought I had written it down but I have either lost it or I didn't write it down. I know she boiled potatoes and peeled them. But from there I don't remember what she did. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Can you help me please? Thank you for your help.
