How does one get the burned on food off of an electric stove burner drip pan? I've tried everything to remove the gunk!

Oven cleaner. It will take the shine off of them but they will be clean.
The reason the burner pans turned dull after using oven cleaner is they were probably aluminum. It works fine on enamel or stainless.
Also if you have a self cleaning oven, stainless, and enamel drip pans can be cleaned using it.
