Cleaning S'mores Skewers

July 14, 2014

If you invested in the metal skewers for your s'mores, or just for roasting marshmallows, here's an idea for you:

After you've finished roasting the marshmallows for the evening (or afternoon, or whenever), put the skewers points down into a bucket or pitcher filled with 6 inches or so of water and a squirt of dishwashing soap. Let the skewers soak overnight, then scrub them in the morning with a scrubby pad, rinse, and put them away for the next time.

Source: Utter frustration after having to clean 60+ skewers before use and then afterwards. They had been put away grungy the year before, and I was determined to NOT do that again!
