My coffee pot is thick with coffee reisude. What can I use around my house to clean my coffee maker?

Run it through several times, but use vinegar instead of coffee in it. It will clean out the reside and any water deposits. Keep running it through until it is clear.
I have cleaned with diluted vinegar. You have to do it a few times.
