Cleaning a Dishwasher

What can I use to clean my dishwasher?

I just had a repair man out for the DW and he said if smell or mold is an issue, a 20 or so oz bottle of white vinegar will do the trick. Pour half the bottle into the bottom of the wash tub (no dishes in it) at the beginning of the wash, and the other half in the middle of the last rinse cycle, if you have more than one.

Worked great for me. If you have stains you can lighten then up with baking soda and peroxide mixture. Just make a paste, however thick you want it, and scrub away. It doesn't take much elbow grease since baking soda is an abrasive. Then just run the cycle without dishes, once to clean out the mixture. (03/02/2010)
