Think ahead for wonderful Holiday gifts. Each spring and summer I used to go around to my friends' gardens and pick the flower petals up from the ground. Take the flowers or petals home and lay them out on newspaper on the floor and leave to dry.
I had bought a type of room freshener and found I can make them for much less than the $10.00 that I paid! I went to garden shop and bought 'SoilMoist', which are granules which retain moisture when planting. I used empty candle jars which had tight fitting covers.
Heat 1 cup of water with 1/2 cup of liquid potpourri add 2 packages of gelatin. Heat until boil stirring constantly. Take away from heat and add the other 1/2 cup of potpourri.
While talking to my kid brother yesterday on the phone, he told me about an idea he had tried. I changed it a little bit and am going to share it here. It is an inexpensive way to add scent to any room without candles or expensive sprays.
