Clean Laundry Baskets for the Trip Home
Since I go to the local laundromat to wash my clothes, I wanted to put my clothes back in the laundry baskets when they were dry. My concern was the baskets were dirty. I decided to put some jersey pillowcases over the laundry baskets so I could put the clean clothes back in the basket. It works great! I have several sizes of laundry baskets and they stretch to fit all of them.

Using Less Laundry Soap
When doing laundry, only use 1/4-1/2 of the amount of laundry soap the box calls for. It cleans clothes just as well and makes the laundry soap last twice as long.

Removing Dinginess from Whites
To remove the "dingies" from white clothes drop a dishwasher soap tab, or a half cup of dishwasher powder (must be for dishwashing machine) into your washer, along with your regular laundry soap, and wash as usual. Works really great on white socks!

Laundry Tip for the Family
Doing the laundry, boring. I have a laundry basket for everyone in the house. I even put their names on them so to make sure they know which is theirs. On laundry day I wash, dry and fold.

Cascade with Dawn Dishwasher Tablets Alternative
I've been using Cascade with Dawn dishwasher tablets. They work great but are just too expensive. I have tried several liquids and powders but they don't get my dishes clean. Any recommendations? I use plain white vinegar in the rinse-aid receptacle.

Getting Perfume Smell Out of Clothing
My son has received some great hand-me-downs from a friend, but they have been washed in scented laundry detergent. He has allergies and asthma, so I always use unscented detergent and fabric softener. I have tried washing them in hot water with baking soda and my own detergent, but the smell is still very strong.
