Computer Tip for Degree Symbol

Just learned this, and wanted to share. For example: if you wanted to type 350 degrees on your recipe for baking, etc. On your right number key pad, type in 350, and then with left hand; hold down alt key, and simultaneously type in 167 on right number key pad; and the degree sign will show.

I hold down the alt key and type 0176 with the numeric keypad, also for a bullet use Alt 0149, and for a dash, alt 0150. Try other number combinations to find the symbols you use most frequently.

Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows Computers
Holding down Ctrl and pressing the indicated key will execute the following commands:

File:

• Ctrl + S = save
• Ctrl + N = new document
• Ctrl + O = open existing document
• Ctrl + P = print
• Ctrl + W = close

Paragraph Alignment:

• Ctrl + L = left aligned
• Ctrl + R = right aligned
• Ctrl + E = center aligned

Line Spacing:

• Ctrl + 1 = single line spacing

(On the Mac, use the Command key rather than the Ctrl key.)

NOTE: Codes generated with your Alt Key require using the Number Keys on your Numeric Keypad.

Using the Number Keys at the top of your keyboard will not work.

In MS-Word: Shift + F3 = Toggles selected text from ALL CAPITAL LETTERS
to all lower case letters to traditional sentence structure.

These shortcuts apply to many Microsoft programs (such as MSOffice and MSWorks). Most of the shortcuts apply to many other programs, as well.
