Cookie Dough Topped Brownies

Cookie Dough Topped BrowniesMy husband is a huge cookie dough fan. I don't let him eat actual cookie dough because I'm squeamish about raw eggs. There are no raw eggs and less flour in this "dough" so he can munch on these in moderation! They're super rich so a little goes a long way with one batch. Any cookie dough fan will love these.

Total Time: 45 minutes

Yield: 32 brownie bites

Source: The dough is my take on a recipe from Today Food.

Ingredients:

Cookie Dough Topped Brownies

Steps:

  1. Line a pan (I used a 11x7 glass pan) with enough foil for edges to hang over so you can lift the brownies out in a sheet later. Grease the foil.

  3. Prepare brownies batter according to package directions. I used the fudgy directions listed, which uses only 1 egg and more water.

  5. Bake brownies using box directions. Cool.
  6. Combine butter, sugars, milk and vanilla in a large bowl and mix well. Stir in flour and mix well.

  10. When brownies are completely cooled, use the foil edges and lift them carefully out of the pan and place them on a cutting board.
  11. Dump the cookie dough on the brownie and gently press down on the dough until it is spread evenly across the brownie.

UPDATE for a fun twist. I just put these under the broiler for a few minutes for fun--- OH MY GOODNESS. The tops turn into gooey cookies and the brownie part is so moist. Now they are not only for my hubby. :)

What with your skills at organization and a fabulous flair for photography, your posts appear very professional.

About the eggs... If your husband really liked eggs added, you could always use pasteurized. Personally, I think the cookie dough would be better without the eggs, period.

Thanks, Doug! I'm always frustrated with my photos (and I adore photography) so your comment means a lot to me. :)

He doesn't care for the eggs in it, I just don't like him eating the raw eggs that we do buy. Just freaks me out! ;)
