Is claw meat or lump meat better to use for cooked crab dressing and crab cakes?

Lump meat, that is what I use.
Lump crab meat is what was served in crabcakes on our trip last year to Maryland. I really don't think it makes much difference as long as it not canned. Frozen is the best bet. Good Luck.
