Coupons and Savings

I save money using coupons, but I also put the amount of money that I save into a savings account (minus the cost of the Sunday paper). That amounts adds up very fast.

Most coupons are for junk we don't need to be consuming. On occasion I may use one for toothpaste or some other personal item. Most of the time store brands are cheaper and just as good. I never see coupons on meat, fresh produce or vegetables, milk, etc. What ticks me off is finding a coupon in the Sunday paper...25 cents off of two. Store brand is still cheaper. I buy a lot of items like coffee, tea, paper products at Big Lots which is usually cheaper than WalMart. And forget about the warehouse clubs; they are not any cheaper. Coupons may work for some but, in my case are a waste of my time.
