How do you set dye in a silk garment? I would like to use old thin silk blouses to make a quilt. Some of them just run and run every time I wash them. What kind of dye does the manufacturers use for these silks? I have tried white vinegar, but it didn't work.
I have 20 60 in. round tables that I would like to have runners for. I would like to make them myself unless I could find them cheaper to buy. My dilemma is how much material is needed and where online is the best site to purchase it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
After Christmas sales are a great time to buy festive winter fabrics to make simple square curtains. Use fabric glue, fold the edges over. Fold the top edge over again leaving room for a bamboo pole or twigs to thread through to hang curtains. I just hung the pole on top of the old curtain rod.
I bought a large amount of fabric cheap at the thrift store but have no idea what it could be used for. It is white in color, crinkly like paper and stretches somewhat like Lycra spandex but only stretches one way.
