We found a tree stump and we're turning it into a coffee table with a glass top. We're planning to use Danish Oil. We're not sure what type of wood it is, but I think it might be pine. Is Danish Oil okay?
I have a Black Walnut stump around which my deck is built. The stump is cut to table-top height and we'd like to seal it and make an outdoor eating area. Any suggestions on products that will seal the stump and withstand the outdoor elements?
I have a tree with very large leaves that I would like to put some kind of a glaze on. Then they could then be used as candy bowls or such things. I hope you can help me. Thanks
With many people pruning at this time of year I thought I'd come up with some useful things to do with the pruned twigs and branches. Today a neighbor gave me several large bundles of long supple apple tree branches.(3 - 6 feet long and about 3/4 inch thick).
How can you preserve sweet gum balls, miniature pumpkins and small gourds to use in crafts? Also if pine cones are used in a center piece or wreath should or could the items be sprayed with lacquer to maintain the craft pieces? Thanks.
If you wish to use pine cones, seed pods and the like in your fall arrangements, spread them on a foil covered cookie sheet and put them in the oven to about at hour at 200 degrees F. That will kill any critters that might be hiding inside.
As the autumn months pass by, many of our yards are filling with free craft supplies. Be sure to take advantage of the plentiful offerings of nature. Your kids will thank you for it.
