Finding Pillar Candles
In my area all the candles that are not in glass containers are all gone from the shelves. Is there a new law for fire safety that I don't know about, or are the businesses afraid of getting sued if someone starts a fire in their home?

Use Bottle Caps as Molds
Press air drying clay into bottle caps and smooth with a blunt knife or tool. The clay will shrink as it dries (may take a few days, especially in wet weather) and should easily fall out of the bottle cap mold when dry (you can coax it out with a toothpick if needed)

Designs to Paint on Pottery
Does anyone know where I can get pictures or designs to paint onto blank pottery plates or platters? I buy the fired bisque plates and then paint pictures with ceramic paint and get them fired. Fruit and vegetable or floral ideas are effective. Maybe some ideas for Christmas?

Build Your Own Kiln and Potter's Wheel
I am looking for several ideas. I would like plans to build my own potters wheel, either kick or electric. I would also like to build my own kiln. And finally, I would like a recipe for homemade potters clay and glazes. Connie from Oklahoma

Turning An Electric Pottery Wheel Into a Kick Wheel
I recently acquired a Creative Industries Model JR pottery wheel that has had all of its electrical components removed. Does anyone know how I could convert this to a kick wheel? I have an idea in progress that works along the lines of the old manual sewing machines. I am stuck on the pulley positioning, any advice would be appreciated. Renee'

Firing Small Clay Items
You can use your self-cleaning oven as a kiln. Not as hot as a real kiln, so it probably would not work for serious potters, but great for firing clay beads and other small clay items. Run creations through 2 cleaning cycles, then paint with acrylic paints. Fun! By Mary
