My Craftsman lt1000 20 H runs until it gets hot and then the engine quits. I've changed the fuel pump and the air filter. Could it be vapor lock? If so how do I fix?

My LT 2000 was running fine and I ran it out of gas. After refueling it would only run for a minute or less and would not restart until it cooled down. Drained tank and put in fresh gas. Nothing. I discovered last year my gas cap wasnt venting and would stall so I keep it loose. Not the problem this time. This time I disabled the fuel solenoid by breaking off the plunger. Problem solved.
