Curry Chicken

Curry you can have with rice or roti.


  • 1 whole chicken or pieces cut, skinned and rinse
  • 1 tin coconut milk
  • 2 Tbsp. sunflower oil
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. ginger and garlic crushed
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 large tomato chopped
  • 2 medium onion chopped
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 pods aniseed
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 pods cardamom
  • 3 stems curry leave
  • 1/2 bunch coriander
  • 1/2 tsp. garmasala
  • 1/2 tsp. jeera or cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  • salt to taste


Fry onion in oil till it browns a little, then add ginger and garlic and saute for few seconds. Add the whole spices and keep stirring not to burn. Add the curry powder, turmeric powder and tomato and cook a little.


Add the chicken and lemon juice and cook for a while and add the rest of the spices. Add the coconut milk and cook till the gravy gets thick. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves.
