Curtain Color Advice?

We recently purchased taupe couches which have sage green and gray pillows. We went with a sage green bold area rug. But I am confused about the curtains, we have very high ceilings. I want to do sheer curtains. I have my mind set on sheer white or sheer ivory curtains, will that work?
