I have a burgundy braided rug in my family room. The walls are painted burgundy on the lower part with cream at the top. My sofa and chair are brown. What color toppers for the windows can I use? I can only use toppers or valances because I have vertical blinds.

I would suggest cream to match the walls or perhaps cream with a small burgundy print if you want to make the room look larger and not draw attention to the window. Have pillows of the same material to pull the whole look together. These colors sound so lovely and inviting together. I wish you had sent a picture. A touch of aqua as in pillows or such would work, but not for the windows. Use a burgundy if you want to accent the windows or a cream and burgundy stripe.
