Curtain Colour Advice?

We have quite large bay windows, some with window seats. The carpet is quite blue, and everything is trimmed in a medium timber. We're going to put up white roman blinds for filtered light, but are also looking to put up blockout curtains. I've been through every sample I can lay my hands on, and still have no idea. What colour/pattern would be good for the curtains and the window seats?
