This butterfly stayed still long enough for me to get a quick shot with the sun shinning through his wings.

Most of the butterflies that come to our two butterfly bushes are swallowtails. By the middle of the day, there are so many, it's impossible for me to count them.

This Monarch butterfly would not stay still long enough for me to get a good clear picture. It's wings were repeatedly up and down, showing me that he was really enjoying this flower.

I saw this butterfly yesterday for the first time and was able to get a snapshot today. Research on the internet tells me it is called a Red Spotted Purple butterfly. If you love butterflies, you would enjoy a butterfly bush. It attracts numerous butterflies all day long when it starts blooming.
