It is common knowledge that a beautiful garden adds to your property value. However, making major changes to a garden can be a costly exercise. It is then when it becomes important to add new life to something old, and see the difference it can make.

Our garden needed a pick-me-up, but our finances are tight at the moment. We added a few new plants, but it still was not enough. Then we decided to add a twist to our old bird bath. We bought a bag of concrete and a few border stones, which didn't cost an arm and a leg. We added a nice border around our bird bath and voila! A feature that has gone unnoticed in our garden for many years all of a sudden became a wonderful focus point!
