Finding Plastic Folger's Coffee Cans?

July 23, 2015

My grandchildren and I are making birdhouses out of used Folger's 11.3 oz. plastic coffee cans. They are handpainted and really awesome looking. We are selling them and all proceeds go towards helping with health care and infrastructure in the country of Mali, Africa.

I didn't anticipate how dificult it would be to find these cans in large numbers. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Why not take pictures of the finished product and advertise for supplies? Post your flyer at grocery stores as well as online telling people why you need the empty containers and where the proceeds go?

Could you ask for your request to be printed in the church bulletin?
So nice that you and your children are doing this.

You might approach org. like the Order of Moose, Elk or other Fraternal groups. Even if you are not a member the will often assist in gathering supplies for you through a drive at their centers.

Then you would just need to pick them up.

I have seen cans of Folger's in teacher work rooms and lounges when I was subbing for a school district in Houston. That should provide many of them.... and when all else fails..... ask your neighbors.

Free cycle.org is a wonderful place to find things that people don't want to go into the land fill. You can also post wanted items on this too.

I have quite a few empties and don't know what to do with them.

If you email me an address I'd be happy to send them if you paid the postage.
