In addition to the Red Cross, churches are also helpful. The superintendent of our district had his house destroyed in a fire. The staff and community collected money for him. Hopefully people will do the same for you.

How long ago did the fire happen? The American Red Cross usually only helps with temporary assistance but can help with temporary shelter, food, clothing, eyeglasses, medicines and some personal hygiene needs.

You may be able to receive some limited help from your local Department of Human Resources and help with getting food stamps and maybe some cash for a limited time.
You can contact any of these groups for information and possible assistance; Department of Social Services, any of your local civic organizations, Salvation Army, or your local church.
You will probably find that more help will be available if there are children involved.
Hopefully you have some family or friends that can also help even a little help goes a long way in times like this.

Red Cross and if you owned the home, possibly see about getting on the list for Habitat if you meet their requirements.

Red Cross is very helpful! When my sister's place burned down they were able to provide her assistance. As well as her leasing department to help her relocate to a new building.

Your local community should have organizations and you can check Craigslist for free stuff you may need for your new place for temporary.
