Go to the Salvation Army church office, and ask for a voucher for beds. Then you take that voucher to their thrift store and if they have the beds, they will give them to you. More than likely they won't be in real good condition. Most of the time you will have to be able to transport them.

If you have a church speak to the pastor he might know people in the congregation that have a bed they want to get rid of. But then on the other hand, I have two adult grandaughters who are in their twenties and among the working poor, who are sleeping on cement floors in their apartment because they can't afford beds, and can't find any free ones.

There is also air mattresses that are quite in-expensive. For kids your wouldn't need real good ones. I don't understand why my grandaughters don't invest in them, but then I don't meddle, you know older people don't know anything. It also won't hurt kids to sleep on the floor.

Since I'm not sure what part of the country you are in or even what country. Search for a group - it's called Freecycle.org online and then you put in your area and they will direct to your local group. I found one through Yahoo groups and I live in a small town in PA.

On there you can post what you need - they also want you to give away something you no longer need. If you have nothing to offer just post you're sorry that you don't have anything yet but that you will pay the favor forward when you can. I've given away coffee maker, hangers, empty tins, microwave and a smaller table and chairs. I've gotten a few things but I have much to give away. Good luck as most are very giving groups. Linda

Try this website: www.freecycle.org People give away stuff for free and there is no fee to join or membership fee of any kind. They will give you the web address for the nearest network to you. All you have to do is respond to the poster's email and pick up the items...so far today, in my area, people have given away beds, a couch, lots of clothing, books, socks, pet toys, a fridge, a T.V., some paint, some wool, moving boxes, silk flowers, crayons, stuffies, and a whole lot of other stuff.

and it is all free. No strings!

See if you have a group called "freecycle" near you. I've found and given so many things on this site and it all has to be "FREE". Also craigslist - they have a free section. Do you have a goodwill store or thrift store near you? Good luck and those 7 boys are lucky to have you trying to care for them. Bless you.

Try looking up a Freecycle group in your area. Go on yahoo groups & enter freecycle. I have found a lot of nice items on there. Also you can pass along things you don't want anymore. Also craigslist under free items.

Some newspapers also have free items. Some things might need cleaned up but usually are decent. Check in your area for a social service who helps people in need. Good luck.
