Make Moist Turkey With Brine
This will make even the lowest priced frozen bird rival a fresh turkey. My approach is to take a new, black plastic trash bag and use it in combination with a five gallon plastic container.

Use Cereal Liners in the Kitchen
To save money buying freezer bags, I use the cereal bags inside the box. They are really good and can be washed and reused again.

Cooking With Fresh Pumpkins
I have a lot of smallish pumpkins. I noticed that all the cans of pumpkin say, "pure pumpkin", so I need some help. What is the easiest way to process those pumpkins for baking? I need the pumpkin mash for pie filing, as well as, muffins, scones, and quick breads?

Use Refried Beans for Thick Chili
Some of my family do not like kidney beans, so I use refried beans instead. It makes my chili thick and very good.

Using Broccoli Stems
When cooking fresh broccoli with long stems, rinse and clean the broccoli; cut off the stems. Leave the stems whole. Cut the florets into large pieces. If the stems are very thick, cut in half.

Cooking Without an Oven
My tip is about cooking on top of the stove. Our oven went out, and isn't repaired yet. I talked to my mother-in-law, and she kind of laughed and said that I've discovered "Country Cooking."

Use Canned Tomatoes Instead of Spaghetti Sauce
Use diced or crushed tomatoes from a can in place of spaghetti or tomato sauce, and then add your own spices for an inexpensive, easy, and tasty sauce made to your liking. It's thicker than tomato sauce, which adds more volume and richness to your sauce.

Roasting Poultry
When roasting a whole chicken, turkey or turkey breast use a "basting" cloth and roast breast-side down for a flavorful moist chicken/turkey. Roasting breast-side down keeps the breast moist because the juices will go down and keep the breast from drying out.

Easy Biscuits
Easy and delicious. 2:1 ratio. Mix, roll out and cut or drop by tablespoon. Preheat oven 400 degrees F. Bake 20 minutes.
