Tomato Substitute for Cassolet Recipe
I want to make cassoulet and I have a terrific recipe, but it calls for 1 cup whole peeled canned tomatoes, to which I am allergic. What can I use as a substitute?
Miracle Whip In Mashed Potatoes
I like to make mashed potatoes with Miracle Whip (not mayonnaise!) instead of butter and milk. The rule is the same, use just what you need for the consistency/taste you want. I learned this many years ago from a great friend and always think of him when I make potatoes.

I have a recipe to use some tortellini I bought recently. The recipe calls for Gouda or smoked Gouda. I do not keep either on hand. Is there a substitute I could use, like cheddar, or Colby? Or do I need to either buy Gouda or toss the recipe? Thanks for your thoughts.
