Popping Fresh Corn from the Field
I gleaned a popcorn field, but the popcorn will not hardly pop. Does it have to cure first or something?

100 Calorie Snack Packs
Why spend hard earned money on pre packaged 100 calorie snacks? Here are some you can package yourself and always have ready for yourself or your kids' lunch box. Each of these will fit into a small snack zip lock bag which I buy at my local dollar store.

Egg Salad Snack Cracker
Try this idea instead of chips. Mix chopped, hard boiled eggs with a little mayonnaise to make a simple egg salad, then spread a little on top of an ordinary saltine cracker. Simple, delicious, less expensive, and more nutritious than a bag of chips.

Brown Bag Microwave Popcorn
One of my friends suggested I try popping popcorn in a brown paper bag in the microwave for a healthier snack. I just tried it, and it worked great! Just put about 1/4 cup popcorn kernels into a brown paper lunch bag. Adding more will be a waste because the popped corn will start to burn.

Try Nutella On Celery
Have you tried the Nutella Hazelnut spread? Nutella is mixed with skim milk and cocoa and it is great when spread on celery stalks. The celery softens and lightens the taste of the Nutella and you can make snack size chunks for party platters. It is less fattening than Nutella on toast and easier to eat.

Have a Snack Basket
I keep one of those little plastic baskets used for organizing in a cupboard that my kids can reach. This basket is filled with snacks that I feel they can eat without me knowing or are healthy alternatives to treats. We call it our snack basket.
