Around this time of year I like to make homemade popcorn balls for my Dad. The syrup recipe I have always used calls for light corn syrup, (such as Karo). However recently I found an all natural sweetener called agave nectar.

Use Sour Cream as an Egg Substitute
My husband and I are vegetarians, and have found that one heaping tablespoon of sour cream equals one egg in any recipe. It works in any baking recipe I've tried (we cook a lot).

Substitute for Chocolate Chips in Recipes
Could anyone give me some suggestions please? I see so many recipes using chocolate chips and I get so frustrated, because I would love to try them out. However, I can't because where I live chocolate chips or drops are, for some obscure reason, horribly expensive.

Add Mackerel to Salmon Patties
When making salmon patties, sometimes one can of salmon will not make enough for my needs. Instead of buying another can of salmon, I mix in a can of jack mackerel (right next to tuna and salmon at the grocery).
