| Frugal Fourth of July Activities
On the Fourth of July, we try to do a lot of activities that include our family and friends; cooking out, covered dish dinner, making ice cream in the old fashioned crank freezer, or having a watermelon cutting. These activities can be enjoyed by the young and old.

| Freeze Glow In The Dark Items

Glow sticks and necklaces are popular on the Fourth of July, but they glow for only about four hours after activation. Instead of just letting them run out, put them in the freezer. It interrupts the glow, & will resume glowing after a 5 - 10 minute thaw. Then the fun toy will last much longer!

| Scoop Ice Cream Ahead of Time
Ice cream is the perfect dessert for a barbecue, and easy to serve if you scoop it ahead of time and put the scoops in cupcake liners, then freeze. Pop a scoop of ice cream, or 2 into a bowl and add some sliced strawberries or peaches!
