Which brands are the best front loader washers?

I bought the Whirlpool Duet set back in early 2005. They are still running great. We really have never had any issues with them. The front load washers use much less soap and much less time in the dryer, which makes up for the higher cost. Good luck! (10/12/2010)

I have had a Whirlpool set for 6 yrs and have had no problems. One piece of advice I would give is to use the HE powdered detergent. If you don't mold will build up inside the rubber ring and the washer will stink. Once I switched to powder detergent there was no smell and the mold is gone after I cleaned the rubber boot with bleach. (10/13/2010)

After seeing many washers in disrepair, I would recommend the Whirlpool Duet front load washer. While it is not perfect, the parts are readily available, are not too expensive, and provide reliable service relatively. I would stay away from GE, LG, and Samsung. Hope this helps.
